The AI Power Index studies what an entity can decide or enforce, whether counterparties can replace it, whether leverage produces observable outcomes, and what could weaken that position. It separates power from AI spending, adoption, visibility, and exposure.

The current staging release declares 20 company scopes across chips, cloud, model development, distribution, and energy infrastructure. Evidence collection has not yet run, so the profiles abstain. This is a visible boundary, not a neutral score.
