Breadcrumb schema provides AI systems with a clear, structured map of how your content is organized.
It signals:

  • how pages relate to one another
  • where a page sits inside the site hierarchy
  • the parent → child structure
  • how far a page is from the institutional root

AI models use BreadcrumbList to reconstruct the information architecture behind your surface pages.
Proper breadcrumb schema increases interpretability by showing AI systems:

  • which pages are category hubs
  • which pages are detail pages
  • which levels bind the entity graph together
