Authority & Citation

Authority & Citation

Each Entity Clarity Index report is published as a governed institutional artifact. Scores and assessments are presented only within the context of the full report, and the accompanying PDF serves as the authoritative record for citation, reference, and executive decision-making.

Entity Clarity Index (ECI)

The Entity Clarity Index (ECI) is a cross-industry framework designed for executive leaders navigating the shift to an AI-mediated economy. As AI systems increasingly determine how information is discovered, interpreted, and trusted, ECI evaluates how clearly organizations across sectors — including media, finance, healthcare, technology, and consumer industries — are understood by machines.Rather than ranking performance, ECI measures structural posture, capability, and entity coherence to reveal how AI-driven perception translates into institutional visibility, power concentration, and capital allocation outcomes. This surfaces strategic risks and opportunities that traditional metrics fail to capture. Each report focuses on a single vertical, providing executives with a clear view of how institutional choices shape AI interpretation, influence capital flows, and determine long-horizon authority and leverage.

How to Read This Index

- One report per vertical: Each Entity Clarity Index report examines a single industry or sector to ensure like-for-like comparison and avoid cross-vertical distortion, enabling clean interpretation of how AI-driven perception influences structural positioning within that vertical.
- Structure over performance: ECI does not rank financial results or operational success; it evaluates how clearly an organization’s identity, content, and authority are interpreted by AI systems — and how that interpretation translates into visibility, power concentration, and capital allocation outcomes.
- Scores appear only in context: Entity Clarity & Capability (ECC) scores are displayed exclusively within the Index section of each report, alongside posture and capability analysis, framing each score as a directional signal for institutional positioning rather than a standalone metric.
- The PDF is authoritative: The downloadable PDF serves as the official record of each report and should be cited for institutional reference or decision-making, particularly in contexts involving strategic positioning, capital allocation, and executive-level evaluation.

What We Measure

- Posture — The strategic stance an organization takes toward AI access and reuse, ranging from open participation to defensive control or full restriction. Posture reflects intent, and directly shapes how information is surfaced, suppressed, or amplified within AI-mediated discovery systems.
- Capability — The degree to which an organization’s structure, metadata, and architecture enable AI systems to accurately discover, interpret, and attribute its information. Capability determines the reliability and consistency of AI interpretation, influencing how often and how confidently an entity is represented.
- Entity Clarity & Capability (ECC) — A composite measure reflecting how consistently and confidently an organization is understood by AI systems. By combining posture and capability, ECC functions as an institutional signal indicating how AI-driven perception translates into visibility, structural power, and capital allocation outcomes.
