Knowledge-dense industries (Fintech, Media, Consulting) lead in AI compatibility, while intermediation-heavy sectors (Marketplaces, Restaurants, Retail) show the lowest legibility and highest structural risk. The report introduces a posture-versus-capability framework and a Legibility Risk Map to assess future institutional resilience.

Developer-first companies (Stripe, Adyen, Fireblocks) have exceptional clarity while institutional infrastructure (Visa, Mastercard, Global Payments) is either blocked or unresolved. Using the ECC framework on 48 payments companies, we find documentation culture predicts AI legibility better than market cap. The networks powering trillions in transactions are less comprehensible than the platforms built on top of them.

Health Care is the first industry where being misunderstood is more dangerous than being unseen. AI exposure functions as a liability surface — shaping clinical trust, regulatory narratives, and reimbursement framing. Using the ECC framework on the top 50 health care companies, we see a strategic split between regulated legibility builders, clinical authority stewards, defensive narrative managers, and closed liability shielders. "Blocked" is often a rational risk posture, not a lack of sophistication.
