Our power thesis

Enterprise distribution and authority over work reinforce Azure. We expect Microsoft to become a leading institutional permission layer for agents, retaining second place even as independent model companies grow.

Four Forces breakdown

Each force uses the same fixed 0–100 scale. The strongest force and breadth of control determine the Power Score.

Our forecast

Across our 2026–2030 view, the Power Score rises from 91.9 to 98.1; the rank holds at #2.

Compute 90 → 95; Interface 95 → 100; Alignment 95 → 100; Energy 75 → 90.

The thesis above explains our call. Rank can fall even when power grows if other companies gain faster.

What would change our mind

Customers move their agent orchestration and identities outside Microsoft’s products.
